Jeremy Macvean
Marketing & Communications
Jeremy’s youthful passion for marketing and communication saw him hold senior positions at Clemenger Harvie Edge and Y&R before joining Austereo in 2004 as Group Marketing Director.
After successfully building Austereo's Marketing team, he was appointed to Head of Digital Strategy & New Business Development in 2008, driving the broadcaster's expansion in digital media including online, social media, mobile and digital radio.
Never satisfied with just helping companies build great brands, Jeremy turned his attention towards the health and not-for-profit sector with roles including Regional Director Asia-Pacific for The Movember Foundation, Digital Strategy Advisor at the Royal Women's Hospital, and Director of Digital Strategy for Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
2019 brought a new chapter to Jeremy’s working life with the launch of The Father Hood. A dad-focussed media platform that was born when Jeremy, Luke Benedictus (formerly of Men’s Health) and Andrew McUtchen (Time+Tide and formerly GQ) and realised that not only could dads do with a rebrand, but also could benefit from inspiration and information about parenting from a father’s point of view. Jeremy says: “We believe that becoming a father is one of the greatest challenges and also opportunities a man can experience. To be better than he's ever been before; stronger, wiser, more driven and more compassionate. It forces you to rethink what really matters. And there’s no part of your life that is out of its reach: from your career, to your relationships to the spatial dimensions of your car. Being a dad is a big deal. It's the champion’s league of manhood. The Father Hood celebrates with all dads that we’re in this trek together.”
Jeremy is in a unique position in that he not only offers a wealth of knowledge and expertise in brand building and digital media, but also essential life skills and practical tips learnt through years of being in the health and mental health sector. Whether it be the talking head of a communications campaign or the driving force behind the campaign’s creation, Jeremy is a very talented and experienced communicator.
