October 15 marks Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, and we are proud to announce the launch of our new Pregnancy Loss Support Program.
Our launch partner, Westpac Group, has just made this available to their people. This means, leaders and individuals (birth parents and partners) experiencing pregnancy loss can now access specialised support from our trained psychologists.
“This is a small but important step in helping our people who are going through the often unexpected and heartbreaking nature of pregnancy loss, with the difficult journey ahead,” says Westpac’s Group Executive, Human Resources, Christine Parker.
The ABS reports 282 miscarriages, five stillbirths, and two infant deaths (under the age of 28 weeks) every day in Australia. Given the prevalence of pregnancy loss, employers and HR leaders need to be aware of the issue and mindful of how it can potentially affect employees.
Losing a baby is a devastating experience that can have lasting repercussions. Transitioning Well can provide specialised psychological support to help help to work through this difficult time at the individual, manager or team level. Find out more about this specialised support here.
