Sharon is an endorsed organisational psychologist and executive coach, mother of two teenage children, avid volunteer and wife to a patient husband with over 20 years’ experience working with individuals and organisations to enhance quality of work-life. She is passionate about surfacing her clients’ strengths and expertise and showing them how to apply these in an evidence-based way to ensure that their goals are achieved.
Her special interests include supporting people through career and life transitions, wise and ethical decision-making, resilience, negotiation, re-teaming, workplace civility, managing challenging behaviours, positive leadership, motivating performance, psychosocial risk management, learning to learn, and self-coaching.
Sharon has worked with a wide range of clients from diverse industry sectors including health, law, higher education, state parliament, pharmaceutical, finance, communications, technology, defence and manufacturing to name a few. She has also led and managed large teams of professionals within commercial, government and volunteer environments and draws on this on-the-ground experience to ensure the solutions she develops with transitioning managers are practical, realistic and fit-for-purpose.
As a skilled facilitator and executive coach, Sharon consistently receives praise for her use of humour and straight-talk to make the learning/coaching process fun and engaging, and for her level of expertise and credibility in developing practical solutions to work-life challenges. Her high level of professionalism, integrity and discretion has meant that Sharon is also regularly asked to assist clients with high public profiles to manage sensitive and complex people management issues due to the confidence and trust they place in her.
Sharon is a member of the Australian Psychological Society’s College of Organisational Psychologists and Interest Group in Coaching Psychology and the International Positive Psychology Association. Between February 2008 – December 2011, she also served on the Ethics Committee of the Australian Psychological Society. In her capacity as a field supervisor for Masters of Organisational Psychology students, Sharon is also an Honorary Associate of Macquarie University in Sydney.
